I'm Diego Allies, a senior software engineer based in Kimberley, South Africa. I build production systems that actually ship - from agricultural monitoring platforms processing thousands of farm inspections, to real-time security management tools protecting people on the ground.
I've spent 4+ years shipping across the full stack - Vue.js, React, Flutter, .NET, Go, AWS - and I genuinely don't care what the tool is as long as it solves the problem. Currently splitting time between Waltworks (agricultural tech) and GuardNexus (security operations), while building side projects like SheepLedger for livestock management.
When I'm not coding, I'm tinkering with my homelab, automating things that don't need automating, and trying to convince my wife that another Raspberry Pi is a necessity.

Full-stack agricultural monitoring platform built at Waltworks for Prokon SA. Features real-time field scouting, disease detection, grower management, and automated reporting. Built with Vue.js, .NET REST services, PostgreSQL, Go serverless functions, AWS Lambda, Flutter mobile app, and Power BI analytics dashboards.
GuardNexus
Security management platform built from the ground up as CTO. Real-time guard tracking, incident reporting, client dashboards, and automated shift scheduling. Built with Vue.js frontend, .NET Core API backend, PostgreSQL, deployed on Render with CI/CD pipelines.
SheepLedger
Mobile livestock management app for sheep farmers. Tracks individual animals, bloodlines, locations, sales, expenses, and losses with real-time dashboards and financial reporting. Built with Flutter, SQLite, and clean architecture for offline-first performance in rural areas.
Social Media Platform
Developed a tailored social media platform with sophisticated live streaming integration, as per client specifications. This comprehensive system includes a React Native application designed for Android, ensuring an engaging mobile user experience. The platform features monetization through integrated payment processing, and is built on a tech stack comprising React, SQL, Node.js, Express, and TypeScript, providing a versatile and scalable solution.
Real Estate Data Analytics
Collaborated with a global team of experts to refine and innovate a major real estate data analytics platform. Leveraging a tech stack that includes Angular and MySQL, with the addition of React and Next.js, we enhanced the firm's data processing capabilities. Our unified goal was to offer innovative, data-driven tools for the real estate sector, ensuring informed analysis and decision-making for our clients.
