I'm Diego Allies, a senior software engineer based in Kimberley, South Africa. I build production systems that actually ship - from agricultural monitoring platforms processing thousands of farm inspections, to real-time security management tools protecting people on the ground.
I've spent 4+ years shipping across the full stack - Vue.js, React, Flutter, .NET, Go, AWS - and I genuinely don't care what the tool is as long as it solves the problem. Currently splitting time between Waltworks (agricultural tech) and GuardNexus (security operations), while building side projects like SheepLedger for livestock management.
When I'm not coding, I'm tinkering with my homelab, automating things that don't need automating, and trying to convince my wife that another Raspberry Pi is a necessity.
